It’s a very hot and humid summer. It feels like you’re in an oven all day and night. Selecting the right foods this summer is the key to survive this heat. Foods that will cool you down like cold noodles are ideal. Unlike soba noodles which are quite popular, Somen and Hiyamugi are white in colour. Somen is thinner and Hiyamugi is thicker. Somen is normally served in a cold water filled with ice cubes. You dip the noodles in a dipping sauce containing ginger and green onions and consume it from the dipping cup. Serve with shiitake mushroom, tofu made of sesame seeds, fresh veggies and seafood/vegetable tempura. Followed with watermelon and pineapple jello for dessert at Mimiu.
