Now is the season. You can now buy edamame beans fresh at the vegetable section of your local grocery store.
To begin, remove each pod off from the branch with your fingers. Some people trim the edges off with a pair of kitchen scissors. Next rinse the pods off with water and massage them with your hands using salt. Bring a pot of water to boiling in a large saucepan. When the water starts boiling, put salt to taste before you put the pods in. Boil for about 3 and a half to 4 minutes.
Be careful not to overcook them. When they are ready, drain them well but do not rinse with water.
Edamame is rich in protein and fiber. They are very tasty and healthy. Enjoy!
