The next time you get a chance to visit an Asian grocery store, theres is one product I really recommend you to buy if you like to cook Japanese dishes.
It’s not a regular rice vinegar so to speak. It is a seasoned vinegar consisting of vinegar, sugar and salt. You can use this vinegar to mix with white rice and create sushi rice. This vinegar is called “Sushi Su” by Mizkan.
You can also use it to make pickled vegetables and salad dressing.
I marinate fresh veggies such as Daikon (Chinese radish) and kyuuri (Japanese cucumber) in a jar to make pickles for the week.
I also use it to taste fresh tomatoes and seaweed as seen in the picture below.
This is the magic vinegar.
