Osaka is a city on the West side of Japan and Tokyo is a city on the East side. We are different in many ways: how we pronounce words, vocabulary, intonation, history, food, culture and even our sense of humour. In Tokyo, when you take an escalator you stand on the left side. In Osaka, you stand on the right side. In Tokyo, we have Tokyo Disneyland right outside of Tokyo. In Osaka, they have Universal Studios. Sanyo and Panasonic are headquartered in Osaka. Sony is headquartered in Tokyo.
Osaka is also known as a city of merchants and a city of food. Instead of saying ”How are you?”, they ask, “Making any profit?”
It is nice to go visit Osaka once in a while.
