Cyaseki Mantei

If you visit the Ghibli museum, Inokashira Park, Inokashira Zoo or the town of Kichijyoji, I highly recommend that you visit this tea house which is hidden away in the alley.  The name of the tea house is Cyaseki Mantei. It is a part of an actual house that someone resides in.  It has been there since 1975.  They are open from 12:00 noon to 17:00 only. To get there, walk up the second stairs (not the main one) from the Inokashira park and turn right.  You will see it on your left hand side. You can rest having matcha tea, green tea, coffee hot or cold with wagashi or rice crackers or cold fruit juice. You almost feel like you are a guest of someone’s house.

it wasn’t a big house but it had enough space to provide sitting area and the small garden was well maintained and it was just peaceful there.
