Renting Kimono in Kyoto

In Kyoto, there are many kimono renting places catered to tourists. Here you can rent a kimono to dress up as a Geisya and have your photo taken or you can simply wear a kimono to walk around the historical town of Kyoto. There are different packages and the prices vary from 3500 yen to 25000 yen.

Near the Kiyomizu Temple, there is a kimono rental house called Okamoto where you can select your own kimono and purse for 4000 yen and get your hair done for an additional 1000 yen plus tax. You will get to keep your tabi-socks. Walking around the historical town of Kiyomizu and the temple in Kimono will make you feel like you live there and will complete your trip.
