Tea House in a Castle

Nijyo Castle in Kyoto has a very nice and cozy tea house where any visitors are welcome to come by.  Inside of the Castle, where the Syogun used to reside, is now open for tourists. After taking a tour of the castle and it’s beautiful gardens, it is nice to rest at this beautiful tea house. The tea house has a nice garden view, tranquility and the hospitality of the tea servers dressed in Kimono who bring you a cup of Matcha tea with a plate of Wagashi.  You now know why I am gaining weight… You pay 700 yen per person at the entrance.

Have you been served tea in a castle?  If you haven’t, this is the place to visit.
