Flower Wine Night

Flower Wine Night is held once a month at Aoyama Flower Market in Minami Aoyama.  You will need to make a reservation way in advance because the seats get booked up very quickly.  The place is full of fresh flowers and has a nice garden atmosphere. Most of the guests are young women (except me) for some reason.  Each month they have a different flower theme and wine study.  The cost is 3000 yen plus tax (3240 yen) and it starts at 17:00. In June, the theme was “Blue Flowers and Chilled Red Wine”.  You first study about the different types of blue flowers, how to take care of them and learn sample flower arrangements while you are enjoying a glass of wine and appetisers.  You then learn about wine and taste three different kinds of wine.  At the end, you are served herbal tea with honey while you chat with the other people.  They make an announcement, “The theme for next month will be Sun Flowers!”.  You can continue to drink your wine if you are not in a hurry.  You can also purchase the wine if you wish to.  Before you leave they wrap your flowers for you to take home.
