The old main post office of Japan which was built in bricks was renovated several years ago and it is now a modern building with nice restaurants and shops inside. The building is situated in front of Tokyo station on the Marunouchi side. Marunouchi is one of my favorite areas to walk around. It has a historical old charm of the old office buildings from the Meiji era and the modern buildings. There are luxury goods shops, brand name boutiques, trendy restaurants and cafes on small streets behind big buildings. During the winter holiday season, the streets are decorated and lit up so that many people can visit and enjoy the town. The JP building is walking distance from those beautiful streets. Today, I visited there with my daughter as we had a reservation at a French restaurant of the sixth floor. On the sixth floor, there is a door to go out into the garden space. You can enjoy the views of Tokyo station, the bullet trains and nearby buildings. There are park benches to sit and rest. If you ever have a chance to visit the JP Kitte building, don’t forget to visit this little garden terrace!
